On the Colorado River northwest of Austin in Travis and Burnet counties lies the famous Lake Travis. The Lower Colorado River Authority and Travis County Parks operate 15 parks on the reservoir of lake travis. Campgrounds, picnic areas, bird watch, windsurf, boatings and shoreline fishing are provided in some of the parks.
